[NaNoWriMo Update] Days 7-9, Seek and Hide

Day 7:  1,374
Day 8:  3,127
Day 9:  2,072
3-Day Total: 4,501
Total Word Count: 20,415

Despite the Scrivener kerfluffle earlier in the week (and my 5 Hour Energy’s giving out as soon as I got home from the office on Thursday), I didn’t fall behind.  I am not going to brag about being 5,415 words over par.

I am not going to brag about being 5,415 words over par.

I am not going to brag about being 5,415 words over par.

I am not going to brag about being 5,415 words over par, despite school and work and not-work…

Not. Going. To. Do. It.

I ball parked this project at around 75,000 words, and to my surprise, it does look like I’m going to need every single one of them to tell this story, ’cause, seriously, I’m still just writing scene descriptions and I’m already into 20K.  I haven’t even gotten into the dialogue … or the research.  Oh dear fish, there’s so much I either don’t know or don’t remember about the technology that I’m playing with here.  But research can wait until after NaNo.

On a side note, I got another spam comment about auto-critique of my SEO methodology, along with an offer to sell me something that’d make my site awesome and possibly also magically do my laundry.   At this rate, I’m tempted to put out a statement to, oh, heck, I’ll just do it.

Dear Would-Be-Marketers of Search Engine Optimization,

If I wanted to optimize my search engine presence, I’d be doing it already.

Thanks!
