My final word count for Singing Down Sepia came out to be 50,982 in Microsoft Word post-Scrivener compile, and it validated at slightly over 51,000 words. I say ‘slightly over’, because the NaNoWriMo server just crashed. Coincidence that it crashed right after I validated my work? Hey, this is me we’re talking about. It’s likely not a coincidence!
Anyway, if you like, you can check out the word count in its full glory at http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/participants/nineme when the site comes back up. If the site comes back up. The site should come back up, of course, because I genuinely do not have the power to destroy computers and computer networks and cell phones and digital watches … oh, crap, yes, I do, but uhm, their servers are now a continent away from me, so they should be okay. Really.
So … where were we? Right! I just wanted to say thanks to the (surprising number of) folks who’ve been following me during this month’s shenanigans. It’s been more encouraging than you might realize and I’ll likely admit, because I don’t want y’all to think I’m a big freak who always performs better in front of an audience.
I think I should shut up now while I’m ahead. To quote one of the characters from this NanoDoc, “I still think in my language. It does not always translate gracefully.”
